Richard Stone

A native of Los Angeles, Richard Stone is a sought-after clarinetist and bass clarinetist in the United States and Europe.  In addition to his orchestral appearances with the Riverside Symphonia, Lancaster and New West Symphonies, he has performed as a chamber musician and soloist with the Network for New Music, New Operafestival di Roma, and at the Basilica San Clemente.  Richard has also won full fellowhips to the Aspen and Tanglewood Music Festivals. Among the conductors with whom he has worked are Alan Gilbert, Fabio Mechetti, Marin Alsop, Peter Oundjian and Boris Brott.  He has also worked with the composers Gunther Schuller, Peter Lieberson and Bernard Rands.  After entering the New England Conservatory of Music at age seventeen to earn a Bachelor’s of Music, Richard went on to study with Paul Demers at the Boyer College of Music at Temple University where he earned a Master’s of Music.  In addition to his career as a performer, Richard is a Certified Personal Trainer.
